Policitcs and Northern Ireland Assembly…

“The Northern Ireland Assembly has been suspended from midnight on the 14th of October 2002.”

We have had no assembly now for over 3 years. Yet I still have trouble getting to talk to my local MP, and MLA? Logical? I can’t say it is. No-one can. It isn’t. It’s a farse.

There is an ongoing pariliamentary debate on lowering the voting age to 16. I have been trying to get in contact with my local MP Nigel Dodds. This is a matter, which is very important to me and a lot of people I know. I have e-mailed Mr Dodds a number of time. The first such e-mail was approximatley one month ago now. I had a reply last week. I only got this reply because about one and half weeks ago, I decided that because he hadn’t replied I would send the same e-mail, over and over and over again. Eventually some-one from his office got back to me yadda yadda yah, and then said that if I had any more questions “do not hesitiate to contact them.” It so happens I did have questions and I did contact them. Still waiting on a reply….

Getting slightly pissed off about it now. So I decided that I would e-mail the toss-pots in his office to-day and tell the how I felt.

Heres what I said:

In relation to getting a response from yourselves.:

To whom it may concern:

You may remember my last e-mail, I waited over two weeks for a response, only after me sending the same e-mail everyday did I eventually get a response. Now well over a week ago I have sent another e-mail, yet still no response.

To be perfectly honest I’m not at all happy. As one of Mr Dodds potential future voters (be assured the not to distant future) should I not be being treated like everyone else. I feel that I am not being given any attention becuase I am a Young Person. Surely in matter relating to Young People, we should be consulted? It seems only logical, perhaps however logic isn’t a big thing in the party?

There is no Northern Ireland Assembly at the minute, goodness only knows how long I would be waiting, if Mr Dodds was up in Stormont regularly. Perhaps years???

All in all I am not happy with the service your providing, not that I’m going to be expecting a reply or anything. Expectations have been shot, due to previous endeavours.

It will certainly be interesting to see how long it takes them, providing they actually do give me a reply.

Any-one else think that Politics is a bit of a joke. In my e-mail I mentioned that I couldn’t imagine how long it would have taken to get a response if our own Assembly had stopped all their bitch fiting and actually got their thumbs out their asses to have a good natter.

It’s a disgrace that our own MLA’s who we are electing into power(this is what worries me) can’t even sit down and discuss the way forward in what at the minute seems to be a backwards nation. Why are people still voting people into power, who clearly do nothing? Vote in some-one who will move forward and get our assembly back on it’s feet. It seems however that the public seem to enjoy paying people a very comfortable salary for doing nothing. This to me is ludacrous!! Yet people in our country are very quick to fault people, who are claiming bebfits such as the Dole and Job seekers allowance, why not give your local “politician,” a boot up the ass, and tell them to stop being such big cry baby pussies?

This isn’t all I have to say on the subject. But I have other things to do, so I’ll come back to it sometime.

Peace out folks. “Let us not become weary in doing good.”

Tell it like it is johnny! I concur with your arguements on the politics of Northern Ireland..though I’d like to hear what it is you want to accomplish when you (hopefully) get the attention of the local politicians? – Toddy

Who else are we gonna get Jmac? I have an idea, it’ll be a lot of work, but it’ll be worth it to sort out these jackasses that think they can run the joint when they can’t even run to get the bus that only comes once a decade. Talk to you on Monday. – Bloke
